Citizens and Citizens Métis of Quebec

I believe that the time came to regroup, even though this regrouping makes so that we can, in a first time, to create a contact, a tie that will permit, possibly, to follow up on a meeting of all spokeswoman of the Nations living Métis on this big territory that is Quebec. As several Nations and Communities, we believe that the time came to share our ideas and points of view, to unite our strengths in order to give it themselves a common and shared vision of our people's future. We are all conscious that, while having here and there, to the four corners of Quebec, the domestic Clans, the Communities and the Nations isolated doesn't help in anything causes it Métis and the objectives that we pursue. This meeting will be the opportunity of établir les first sat of a Democratic Métis Government that will make strength of equal has equal towards our present political decision-makers, where the ideas will be put to monitoring.

Since more of ten years that I wish a similar regrouping. When I was young, our family was poor and my mother often" said In our family, we have the Indian." but, it is only later than I understood and that I was capable to make this relation between poverty and Indian. To this time, at the end of the forties, it was unthinkable to wish a regrouping of the sort. I would not even have dared ever to imagine it but, today in 2009, it is more that possible, it is necessary, it is necessary because ever a government, whatever he, won't discuss seriously with an unsteady people where each pulls on the cover; one doesn't take us seriously.

As all thing, it is necessary to begin somewhere. I am going to put the table therefore and you will add all utensils and the ingredients that will help to make this regrouping there, as well as to establish the content of this day.

I regret of cannot have contacted the spokeswoman of the Nations and Communities directly. The reason is yet simple, it is that I don't know them then, here is why it is easier for them to contact me if they want it. On the other hand, our Minister and Chief of the Public Relations, Michel Chauvette, will possibly contact the biggest number of Chiefs and spokesman of the Communities and Nations that he will be able to join. Thank you for your understanding and your precious collaboration.

As always, there will be the individuals who will criticize the present proposition because, for them, all reasons are good to make it, and that, often without knowing why. Fortunately, it is not everybody that is the type chialeur. For the concerned persons, for those that want to see our people growing and to bloom freely according to the values that the old transmitted us, we will be then there, together. In the contrary case, or in the case where this meeting would not take place, then we will see our people falling again in the silence and we will let, by makes it even, to all others governments our people's complete management until his instinction because, a people that spends money and energies continually and that doesn't nourish itself, ends up dying, because in all systems, there are an entry and an exit.

I finish here, with the wish that you answered in big number this historic meeting. I also wish that each puts of side his spites towards people of different opinions. Let's make like wires with which we can pull a car, a good strong cable of yellow nylon, a cable that wants to be very strong. But attention, this same cable, as strong either him, is constructed of hundreds small strings that a young child could break easily.
